Seri Chenang Resort & Spa Langkawi
Seri Chenang Resort & Spa Langkawi is a boutique resort featuring traditional Malay villas. Built on the banks of Cenang River, next to Cenang Beach, the resort has views of paddy fields, mountains, the sea, and the fisherman's village of Kampung Kuala Sungai Cenang. The resort also features an infinity swimming pool, a gymnasium, a gallery, a resort boutique, a Spa, and butler service.〔(Luxury resort offers pampering with butler service )〕
==Design and construction==
The resort was designed by DBA Akitek (M) Sdn Bhd, an architectural firm based in Kuala Lumpur.〔(PAM Directory - DBA Akitek (M) Sdn Bhd )〕 Construction of the project was awarded to SCRL Group Sdn Bhd, a development and construction company also based in Kuala Lumpur.〔(CIDB - Registered Contractor Profile - SCRL Group Sdn Bhd )〕 The interior design works were led by Quintessential Elegance Enterprise.
Construction began in February 2009 and took three years to complete. Construction delays meant the project was completed a year behind schedule. The finished resort was handed over to the owner, Seri Chenang Resort Langkawi Sdn Bhd, in early 2013. Over 70 percent of the buildings were constructed using local hardwood timber with the goal of replicating the original architecture of a Malay house. The building structure is composed of Chengal timber on a concrete foundation. The shingles are made out of Borneo Ironwood, otherwise known as Berlian, a tree native to East Malaysia.
